Environment Agency – Beales Corner Flood Risk Management Scheme update

Update from James Turner, Senior User Beales Corner Flood Risk Management Scheme

We are pleased to inform you that work on the Environment Agency Flood Risk Management Scheme project is progressing well. Our contractors are working hard to have the scheme operational in the next few weeks.

The remaining construction activities relate to the final installation of the glazed panels. You may have noticed that some panels were previously installed and then removed. This was a planned activity to allow testing of individual product components and to ensure that the system will operate correctly in the event of flooding.

We would also like to update you on separate works being planned by Severn Trent Water. They have informed us of their intention to carry out improvements relating to their surface water management assets this Autumn.  Please note that these works are not part of the Environment Agency’s Flood Risk Management Scheme project. We understand that Severn Trent Water will be providing more information on this in the next few weeks.

As ever we are grateful for your continued patience and understanding whilst we complete this critical scheme to help protect Bewdley.
