PCC concerned about police funding shortfall following government settlement
PCC John Campion warns “council tax rises are inevitable” following shortfalls in the government’s police funding settlement announcement made earlier today.
Whilst additional money will be given to support changes to National Insurance and the pay award, it will not cover the budget gap facing West Mercia Police.
The impact of this will mean taxpayers will have to pay more, with tough decisions to be made on service reductions and other changes.
