Beales Corner Flood Risk Management Scheme update – 31 July 2025

Dear Residents

On Wednesday, 30 July 2025, Worcestershire County Council Highways officially confirmed that the condition of the road and footpath along Kidderminster Road is suitable for the reopening of two-way traffic.

Looking ahead, the weather forecast for Friday, 1 August 2025 is currently favourable. If dry conditions persist, the subcontractor will continue laying tarmac in what we refer to as ‘Section 1 of the design’ on Friday morning (please see Map 1). Once this work is complete, the one-way traffic system across the bridge will be removed at 5:00 PM on Friday , allowing two-way traffic to resume.

As construction works will continue, and to ensure public safety when crossing Kidderminster Road, Worcestershire County Council has advised that a temporary push-button pedestrian crossing will be introduced, the location is shown on Map 2.

Please note that construction activities will continue into September. Stourport Road will remain closed for the time being to ensure the construction area remains safe for the public. We kindly ask everyone to take extra care when crossing near ongoing construction works.

Best regards,

Gosia Chandler
