Overall Sitrep
- Much improved situation – No longer at Major Incident status / Risk threat downscaled to Medium / Low – reducing
- Severn receding & currently at 3.96m – Alerts / Flood warning still in place – low lying areas
- Comms – Caution people entering water to recover property – high levels / night-time economy
- Weather settled with high pressure dominant over coming days – Rain on Monday, more settled into rest of week
- Multi-agency bronze cell likely to be closed from 18:00hrs today
Flood Impacts
- Beales Corner barriers will commence a staged break-down from this afternoon to open up the bridge / Kidderminster Rd
- Stourport Rd will remain closed
- Severnside barriers at North / South will remain in situ until Monday when break-down will commence
- Pedestrian access open
- Switchback still closed until PM today – area being cleansed
Flood Recovery
- WFDC teams currently being deployed to commence cleanse of key areas
- Free bulky collections are in place for flood affected residents
- Recovery activity will take place over the weekend and into next week – large areas of open space / toilets / civil networks affected
- Strategic recovery now taking place co-ordinated between WCC / WFDC and other key partners to plan & direct recovery activities
