Operational barriers; Hereford, Frankwell phases 1-3, Coleman except for road closure. Ironbridge phases 1 & 2. Bewdley phase 1 & phase 2. Waterside, New Street and Dunn’s Lane gates all closed. Hylton Road barriers deployed Tuesday evening (02/01/2024).
There are currently multiple peaks along the Severn and the above reflects the levels for the latest forecast peak.
Rain this week is expected to bring renewed rises.
The Environment Agency saw 20-30mm in Upper catchments over last 24 hours, with a widespread 10-15mm elsewhere in the area.
Forecast rainfall totals for today, Wednesday to Friday:
- Wednesday widespread 5-10mm, up to 10-20mm isolated max totals.
- Thursday widespread 0-5mm.
- Friday mostly dry, up to 12mm on high ground.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next few days. The Environment Agency are closely monitoring the situation.
